Student Projects Lowdown

Hi! Here is a lowdown of my contributions towards the student group projects in my showreel:

At 0:22 – Street:

My 3rd year university group project set by Rushes VFX. The task was to film a modern terraced house street in order to change the era to the early 1930s. My roles included:

• Filming and recce (shared).

• Tracking and lens correction.

• Roto (shared).

• Modelling: Car improvements, street, sacks, crates and small chimney in the back.

• Texturing: Houses (shared for colour maps), leaves and cobbles (including displacement among other passes).

• Simulation: Smoke.

• Lighting: Lampposts, headlights and general atmosphere.

• Compositing: Day to night (shared on the man), fake shadows for the artificial lights.

At 0:48 – Castle on the Hill:

A 2nd year university assignment in which we had to conceptualize and composite a castle onto a scene in Bradgate Park, Leicestershire. My roles included:

• Filming and recce (shared).

• Tracking and lens correction.

• Modelling: Second tier of the castle, rocks around the edges and initial castle layout.

• Texturing: Projection mapping for the second tier and rocks.

• Simulation: Flags.

• Lighting: General lights.

• Compositing: Sky replacement (shared), castle, birds (shared), people on the castle (shared).
