FMP: Robot Modelling - Improvements + Recce

So on Thursday we had to present our progress so far and my lecturers gave me some tips to further improve my model. The first tip was to work on its range of movement and balance. The second was to look into product design to see how everything comes together.

This is my current progress on those tips. I have pretty much remodelled the lower part of the leg and the hip joint. I decided to take influence from this mech:

I now have a much greater range of movement for the legs which is good. Apart from that, I have been adding lots of screws to the pieces of bodywork. I still have quite a bit to do but hopefully it should all be done by the end of this week.

In other news, I went on a recce midweek and I'm glad I did - the place I had originally researched turned out to be pretty, to put it lightly, meh. However, whilst out exploring I found a very nice park so I'll keep you posted when I've got the final plate.

P.S. Can we just take a second to admire the fact that Maya can have a functioning HDRI in the viewport? For some reason I've only just decided to use this button and I am amazed at how far it has come (also makes screenshots look really nice).
